The following are the high level details of the workshop.
Many physicians are interested in becoming entrepreneurs and starting up new ventures to leverage their expertise and knowledge. This workshop is designed to help them start this process right and get to speed quickly by using a model called Evidence Based Entrepreneurship in Healthcare (EBEH).

Learn entrepreneurship the right way. We describe lean canvas and other methods one could use, and the unique challenges and techniques you can do to innovate in healthcare sector.
Yes, we will work out class-room examples of how the companies are formed and sustained. Our students will try hands-on examples of the process of building a sampe business to learn the nuances.
Finally you are ready to launch a new venture and apply the knowledge in the real world with your own healthcare startup venture! We will work with you as cofounders to launch and sustain the business for the long haul.

Healthcare Entrepreneurs Workshop is a program designed specially for physicians motivated towards launching startups in the healthcare space with the goal of leveraging their unique expertise in this field. Many of the physicians have fine tuned their knowledge and skills with years of training and practice. They know the strengths and challenges of modern healthcare practice.
But, to translate this knowledge to a successful business venture is not trivial. It requires a totally different strength of skills in addition to the knowledge of healthcare delivery to build a viable business in this space.
As entrepreneurs with several years of experience, we can help. In our workshop we will concentrate on what it takes to build a successful venture, and by the end of the workshop, together with our training and your passion, you will have actually started your own startup venture ready to go.

Dr. Mohan Venkataramana is an entrepreneur and founder/president of Syntonix Inc., a technology research and development
and business strategy solutions company specializing in translating bench scale concepts to marketable products.
He has extensive experience building solutions and companies for niche areas in multiple verticals that include
Life Sciences and Healthcare, Clean Energy, Retail Services, Telecommunications, Software and Enterprise solutions,
AI/ML/Big data, Cloud Computing and Mobile Solutions. His focus is on identifying current and future trends in emerging areas
of technology, and creating new technologies to help bridge the gap to the future. He graduated from
the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai with a B.Tech degree and received his Ph.D from MIT in Chemical Engineering.
He also has a M.S degree in Energy Engineering from University of Illinois. His diverse work experience includes positions
at AT&T Bell Labs, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Microsoft and Amazon. He has also collaborated with and supported
many entrepreneurs and start-up ventures.
He is passionate about helping people reach their full potential, and has mentored several entrepreneurs and MBA students
at the Albers Business School in Seattle University. He was also an Educational Counselor for MIT, helping guide students
who are applying to MIT. He founded Experteze, a non-profit initiative to motivate and encourage students around the world
to prepare for a career in scientific research and development in bioinformatics, systems biology and related biosciences,
artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science
as well as other STEMM areas. Prior to Experteze, he had co-founded two non-profit organizations, one called
India Rural Community Projects Initiative (IRCPI) for evaluating new technology introduction opportunities for
rural development in Energy and Healthcare, and the other called Seattle Institute for Peace Studies for fostering
non-violent ways of conflict resolution in young children as well as adults.
The Healthcare Entrepreneurship Workshop begins on the first monday of every month and the sessions are held per the following schedule.
All meetings are held online at 4pm PT - 7 pm PT (7pm ET - 10 pm ET)
BASIC LEVEL WORKSHOP
1. Module 01 - week 1 Monday and Thursdays
2. Module 02 - week 2 Monday and Thursdays
3. Module 03 - week 3 Monday and Thursdays
ADVANCED LEVEL WORKSHOP
4. Module 04 - weeks 1,2 and 3 Tuesdays and Fridays

You will receive a confirmation message from us to the email address you have provided. Click the link on that email to confirm that your address is a valid one.
Once you have verified your email, we will send you an invoice link which you can click to pay the fees.
Upon receipt of the payment, you will receive another confirmation email, this time the starting date of the next module 1 session. Join us for the module 1 on the specified date. You will also receive detailed instructions prior to the first meeting of the class.
Modules 2, 3 continue for the next two weeks.
If you register for the advanced level workshop, Module 4 will begin on first Tuesday of the month and continue for three weeks on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Please note that the advanced level workshop will only be scheduled if sufficient number of participants have registered for the workshop. If not, the
workshop starting date will be changed to the following month.
In order to participate, you should be a healthcare professional (doctor, nurse, administrator or an auxiliary service provider), seriously committed to working with others and building a start-up venture. While you should be able to commit the time and financial commitment to work actively with others to make the venture successful, we understand that everyone might have limitations in this regard and we will find ways to work around these limitations. Everyone's active participation is essential for the success of the venture. You do not have to have a background in business, but should be willing to share and contribute your domain experience to the success of the team.
Participation in the basic level workshop is required prior to attending the advanced level workshop as many of the topics and approaches discussed during the basic level will be applicable during the advanced level workshop session.
Clearly the success of the venture depends on the contributions of the individuals making up the team. However, many of the participants are busy professionals and may have limited time or money to invest. We are in the long haul to have the business succeed, and we therefore begin with an open mind and be willing and flexible to make the business a success. We will discuss various ways by which you can contribute to your team and start-up's success during the workshop.
Yes, you do not need to have an idea when you start the workshop, but you should be willing to keep an open mind to evaluate the options and select one idea that is discussed in the workshop and be willing to commit your time and financial resources to the success of the venture and the team. You will be able to evaluate possible ideas during the basic level workshop segment.
Yes. While the workshop is intended for those seriously considering a start-up within the confines of their time and financial resources, you are welcome to attend only the basic level workshop and skip the advanced level workshop. Please contact us for details.
Yes. You will have opportunity to meet and discuss ideas with others and be able to pick your own startup and/or teammates. We will describe the process and guide you during the workshop.
